Over the last 34 years, IDRC has provided significant support for research activities led by universities, research institutes, government departments and nongovernmental organizations in Kenya.

 

The Centre established its Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa in Nairobi in 1975, a key element in the process of identifying strategic areas of support in the host country in the past decades, and more recently during the democratic transition. Kenyan research partners have also led regional initiatives on issues relevant to many African countries.
