Malaysia was one of the first Southeast Asian countries in which IDRC supported research. The Centre had a strong presence in Malaysia in the 1970s and 1980s, when it supported more than 100 research activities to improve fisheries, aquaculture, education, and health. These have led to better policies, affordable and reliable technologies, and stronger research institutions.
