This site provides information about the Community-Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) Program Initiative in Asia at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). IDRC supports applied, interdisciplinary research on equitable, sustainable and efficient use and management of natural resources by women, men, and children who depend upon them for their livelihoods.

Starting in April 2005, IDRC will integrate its support to natural resource management activities in rural areas of Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean into one global program.  IDRC will continue to support projects at the regional level but within the structure of the new global program.  Organizations and individuals interested in research related to natural resource management in rural areas of Asia should monitor the web-site of the Environment and Natural Resource Management program area.  Information on programming priorities will be available on the web site for the new program after November 2004.

This site operates in English.
