Recherche, moteur d'action
Recherche, moteur d’action (RM), une initiative concertée du Centre de recherches pour le développement international (CRDI) et de la Direction du développement et de la coopération (DDC) de la Suisse, aborde ces questions en attirant l’attention des chercheurs et des utilisateurs de la recherche sur les leçons et les données probantes tirées des projets de Gouvernance, équité et santé.

Il nous fait plaisir d’annoncer la publication d’un supplément scientifique présentant les résultats de 5 des 6 projets financés par l'ICII2. Les résultats sont publiés paraissent dans le dans le journal International Health and Human Rights, publié par BioMed Central.

Gouvernance, équité et santé (GES)
GES étudie les systèmes de santé sous l’angle de la gouvernance et, réciproquement, utilise la santé comme point d'insertion pour aborder les défis que pose la gouvernance – à savoir comment le pouvoir est exercé, les décisions sont prises et les citoyens s’expriment. D'abord centrée sur l'Afrique subsaharienne, l'Amérique latine et les Caraïbes, GES appuie des recherches qui permettent
  • de conforter et de suivre de près la capacité des gouvernements d'assurer le financement et la prestation équitables des services de santé publique et des soins prioritaires, en particulier au bénéfice des populations marginalisées et mal desservies;
  • d'appuyer les demandes éclairées et réelles des citoyens et leur participation à tout le processus, de l'établissement des politiques à la pratique;
  • de rendre plus efficaces les liens entre la recherche et les politiques de façon à favoriser l'atteinte des deux buts que sont la santé et l'équité sociale.

Dans l'exécution de recherches sur les systèmes de santé sous l’angle de la gouvernance, GES souligne la nécessité de rapprocher les savoirs techniques et politiques car,

si l'on veut que la recherche sur la gouvernance change la vie quotidienne des gens, il faut accorder plus d'attention aux mécanismes qui régissent les échanges entre les intervenants, les établissements, les processus et les traditions en ce qui concerne l'exercice du pouvoir, ainsi qu'à la prise des décisions sur les politiques et à leur mise en oeuvre.

Le point sur le lancement de l’Initiative de renforcement des capacités de recherche en santé (IRCRS) 2009-02-09

L’IRCRS a été lancée officiellement au Kenya et au Malawi pendant la première semaine de février, soit le jeudi 5 février à Lilongwe, au Malawi, et le vendredi 6 février à Nairobi, au Kenya. Les fonctionnaires et les dignitaires des gouvernements nationaux, des représentants du milieu de la recherche, ainsi qui les membres du comité directeur du DFID, du Wellcome Trust et du CRDI ont assisté au lancement. La mise en oeuvre des programmes nationaux doit maintenant débuter.
